STRAIGHT FROM THE ARTISTS' MOUTH...

RAY ON RAY.

MASSIVE ATTACK’s classic album ‘Blue Lines’ (1991) kept me company while I was painting. Hence the title of the show.

I am creative by nature - producing art, in all its forms - is the way in which I process the world. My work is a manifestation of my worldview and the good and bad feelings it invokes.  Each painting involves me looking from the outside in and back out again.

My art is an attempt to make sense of the craziness that surrounds us. I'm most inspired late at night, when the world is quiet and I can hear; paint & manifest my own thoughts.

I am always inspired by what is happening around me, from music, the news or world events.

Making the world a better place in my own small way. That's what moves me.

CLARE GALLERY ON RAYMOND TUIFAO LALOTOA

Lalotoa's work is unique in its level of political; cultural and psychosocial awareness.  Whilst Lalotoa is very proud of his Samoan heritage, he diverges from its highly stylised motifs, exploding into a Wurlitzer of words , images and abstract events for the viewer to uncover.

The dynamism of his work leaves it to the viewer to interpret the scene - LOVE X HATE; WAR X PEACE; GOOD X EVIL - it's all there.

Full Catalogue will online this week.
